Sophia Jenny is a New Zealand visual artist specialising in cyanotype. Her work explores themes of natural and spiritual beauty. 

 

Originally trained in cinematography, Sophia is a highly accomplished photographer and has worked extensively in the film and events industries. 

 

In 2021, following a health crisis, she turned to cyanotype as a meditative and restorative practice of self expression. She is one of only a handful of artists worldwide working in cyanotype at large scale, and the only one in New Zealand, where she is considered the preeminent artist in the medium. 

 

“I find a river of inspiration in our country’s natural beauty and dynamic spiritual energy,” she says. 

 

Sophia lives in Auckland with her partner and their young border collie, Ruby.
